After years of speculation and denial, the site Wikileaks has finally laid to rest any questions about the interest of the Soviet Union on the subject of UFOs. Wikileaks, in this latest move shows that the Soviet Union was not only interested in mysterious flying craft, they were actively seeking either contact or a sample craft themselves.
The leaked cable, referencing comments made by Yuriy Zhadobin, tell a different tale of the UFO phenomenon – one where the governments of the world didn’t simply dismiss it and leave it to the realm of folk tales. In fact, the scenario outlined by Zhadobin is almost the exact opposite. Zhadobin was chairman of the former Soviet Republic of Belarus, and often laments on the way the public handles the details of UFOs these days when compared to how it used to.
Rather than dealing with potential and mystery, and pushing to discover the truth as it once did, Belarus has pushed its UFO program from its memory. Zhadobin’s comments on the subject included, “Unlike during the USSR, the department is not engaged in studying paranormal phenomena. We had a greater means and opportunities which we could spend on anything and everything.” It seems the politics have changed quite a bit. Imagine having virtually unlimited funds to explore and test the paranormal, only to later have those funds entirely taken away by politicians no longer interested in the mysteries of the universe.
Of course there was nothing surprising about the claim by Zhadobin among those who’ve suggested for years that the Soviet Union indeed was interested in the paranormal for many years. It’s already known that the USSR had extensive programs designed to test and study the existence of telekinesis, telepathy, ESP, and pyrokinesis. The studies resulted often in shocking videos being made where the test subjects were able not only to move objects around with their minds, but actually could even catch them on fire.
But Zhadobin’s comments suggested there was more to it than just that. He was talking about UFOs and other subjects as well, “Then, when society was excited by something, it entered our sphere of interest. But when it comes to healers, UFOs and such, we just can’t deal with them anymore.”
Just how much was dedicated to studying unidentified flying objects? His comments actually suggest unlimited funds that could have gone toward studying and even eventually proving the existence of extraterrestrials and their mysterious craft.
